I wanted to try using three different size blocks from the same fabric to see how it would effect the outcome - the smallest ones (right hand panel) are much more dramatic that the large. The flowers are appliqued on fusible style and the stamens are thread painted. Once this is quilted, I plan to hand sew some purple seed beads onto the flower centres. Very NICE! this is a great idea to do them this way. I love the applique on top. Gives it a nice touch.

Wow! By the way, my husband took me to Ikea. My back doesn't hurt as much using the higher tables for cutting out fabric. Thank you so much for the information!
