I started the "Year in a Snap" series from the book "Quilter's Dozen Plus" last year in January. I got them done thru the July wall hanging and then I had to stop sewing and pack to move. We got moved and unpacked and then it was time to start classes for tax season and then tax season started. I worked a jillion hours this tax season so I didn't get any sewing done at all until late April. I'm just now starting to get caught up a little bit.

In other places tax season is fun. In this place it was super stressful and not much fun at all. I should get tons and tons more done this year since I won't be working tax season here again.

That's really cute! I was contacted to take a 72 hour classroom course to learn how to prepare taxes, how hard is it? Don't mean to ask, but does it pay well? Do you work your own hours? You don't have to answer. I'm on SS and need a little extra income. Just askin.

I didn't think it was hard but there were several people that dropped out. The hours you work depends on the company you work for. The first office I worked in we worked 40 hours a week absolute maximum and then after "peak" was over it went down to 25 to 30 hours. We also got paid a bonus based on the value of the returns we did. The last office I worked in we worked from 40 to 60 hours or more a week and the pay was straight pay with no bonus. I made more in the first office I worked in. Both offices are independently owned franchises of the major national tax prep company.
