Mr. Potato head as a tortilla. I'll make another eventually, this one was just to see if it would even work. I used fleece between the two pieces of cloth to grip the plastic pieces better than I think batting would. So far it is holding up!

Very, very cute!
I noticed the eye patch. Just wanted to mention this website for information on getting the eyes to work together: http://www.childrensvision.com/lazyeye.htm My daughter benefited greatly from vision therapy, so just wanted to pass this on. |

I went through patching as a child. Although that eye is still significantly weaker, I definitely think it helped. Looking back, i'm very thankful my mom was so vigilant about forcing me to patch even though I hated it so much at the time. It takes a lot of dedication.
Oh, yeah. Nice work. I guess you could call it Mr. Tortilla Head. |
As a former little kid teacher who saw first hand how hard it is to get kids to wear their patches, my hat is off to you! (he will thank you when he is much bigger....)
Also love the Tortilla Potato Head, very clever |
That is so cute!! Little man got the movies for his B-day tuesday and I think we have watched it 100 times.

Love it...what a clever idea!

Surgery hasn't been voiced as an option, thankfully. My husband said (after looking at the website with me) that his doctor had a lot of those vision therapy aids in his office, but didn't think Ethan needed anything more than patching yet. I'll still keep researching though.
I've learned myself about surgeons, I've had two foot surgeries this year and will have a third minor one next week trying to correct issues caused by the last one... sighhh. I'm glad ya'll like the idea, the boys are still playing with it~! |
I have had students who wore eye patches and benefited greatly from them. We even made matching eye patches for the other kids to try wearing one day. Then we talked like pirates. Fun for all.

That is adorable!! So is your boy :)

I just had my hands on this pic last week, and fortunately was able to locate it again. This is me at my 6th B-Day party at Chuck E. Cheese. I think it was 1984.
