1,840 2 1/2" squares later
1 Attachment(s)
I posted on 11/24 a picture of a project I was working on using my 2 1/2" scrappy squares. Today I completed the quilt top and here is the final result. It is a queen size quilt top using 1,840 2 1/2" squares. I will do an overall meander on my domestic sewing machine when I get back to it. No borders just binding in a darker color. Now I need to concentrate on Christmas projects. Happy Thanksgiving.

Well done!

Now that's a load of scrap! Always fun to see how this type of quilt turns out!
wow. that's a lot of work! Good job.
I love it. Did you have any plan, or did you just sew together what ever you pulled out of the hat? BrendaK

Now that is a super scrappy, and happy thanksgiving to you too.
Love all the scrappy! So much to look at.
Oh my goodness it’s divine! Hats off on for tenacity!
That looks so bright and cheerful.
I do love scrappy squares but I generally stop at 16 patches then when I have enough I put sashing around them. The bags of ready made 2, 4, 8 and 16s waiting to be dealt with might make a full quilt though....... one day perhaps. |
Tell us, is your scrap tub empty?
Wow! Beautifully done!
No, my 2 1/2" square container is still not empty. I had no special way of putting them together, just did not put two alikes together. I really enjoyed the process as picking up a square brought back memories of what quilt that square was used in and who got that quilt. Guess it was a trip down memory lane for me. Thanks all for the kind words.

Beautiful scrappy. I have made a few of those. I adore scrappy quilts.

I am so glad you posted this picture because I am making one also. I’ve got a ways to go before I have that many cut out.

I love your scrappy quilt and how nice to have memories of the fabrics you used. Happy Thanksgiving to you also.
Very nice, you did an awesome job on mixing up the colors. Happy Thanksgiving.
I love your quilt. It reminds me of one my Grandmother made in the 20's. She died when my mom was a kid, but I always think I "know" her when I look at her quilt. Without a doubt she was patient, something you know something about:)
great quilt! I love scrappy quilts like that!
Great scrappy and your corners are amazing! Great job sewing those squares together!
That is a lot of 2 1/2" squares. A lovely result.
Great quilt
I have one just like this only it's a King. I forget how many 3" squares are in it. I love these quilts. They are so bright and cozy looking. There is only one repeat of fabric in mine. It was so different I decided to cut two different places. Beautiful quilt.
Very nice looking. Great job.
It is beautiful - well worth the work you put into it.
I enjoy Postage Stamp Quilts, the seam alignment is so forgiving of my humanity! Yours looks great!!

What a cheerful scrappy! I'm sure that put a dent into your scrap bins too.
