These are new at my local Joann fabric store and $9.99/yd, but I used 40% off coupons on 2 and 50% on one. Bought 3 yard of each. Great backings, I already used a different one on a crib size quilt and it really sews great.

So pretty. I need to check these out.

Those are pretty!

Nixiechicks.com is also having a sale on their 108" fabric. $5.99/yd

Very pretty!

Love the new wide printed backings at JoAnns. Just finished a king size using a beautiful blue paisly for my son, it makes the quilt reversable and is oh so easy to hand quilt.

They have always had it here but not such nice colors :D

Bevanger 03-21-2009 09:13 AM

Very pretty. I'll have to check my Joanns out. I know my Walmart has the wide flannel

Feathers 03-25-2009 06:50 AM

I bought some 108" fabric from Joann's too. It's nice quality and sure is easy to put a backing on a quilt when it's wide enough for the quilt. I haven't been to Joanns in a couple weeks so better go and see what they have that I can't live without. Thanks.

sewjoyce 03-25-2009 08:16 AM

Very pretty fabric. You did good

RedGarnet222 03-25-2009 08:30 AM

Hey thanks for the heads up on the 108" backing fabric. I will have to go and check it out. Now, where did I put those coupons?

JANW 03-25-2009 08:32 AM

I went back with another 50% off and bought another 3 yards in black and white too.

Moonpi 03-25-2009 08:38 AM

Good deal. The blue and white reminds me of old dishes I used to have.

JANW 07-25-2009 10:34 AM

More than this available

henryparrish76 07-25-2009 11:02 AM

I love the ones you picked out.

Boston1954 07-25-2009 11:07 AM

Gee I wish there was a Joann's close to me. The nearest one is 128 miles in Tulsa.

Iluv2quilt 07-25-2009 11:26 AM

Hi. I've been skeptical about buying the 108" backings, have read several reviews on Joanns' website and most were negative comments. I'm glad to hear from someone that it is good fabric to use and easy to sew! And I like the patterns you picked out, not just single color. Thank you.

Nice fabric Janw. Iv'e had good luck with the wide fabric also.

Stitching4Fun 07-25-2009 04:39 PM

The only extra wide fabric that I can find at Joann Fabrics is the muslin. I will have to ask again the next time I go there.

Did they let you use all 3 coupons in one trip or did you have to go in 3 times? Ours will only let you use one per visit.

I used all 3 coupons at the same time

Oh My...
Just up my alley since I have a few tops to sandwich together...
The month of August is going to be for clearing my WIP so I can concentrate on holiday sewing.
I may just have to go there tomorrow and get some yardage for the backs.

Yarn or Fabric 07-26-2009 04:07 AM

I really really wish I had a Joann's near me! A few friends and I are thinking of road tripping to our nearest one of these Saturdays. I'm on their email list so I can keep an eye on sales when I get near one.

Whenever I visit my family in Jersey I always hit at least one - normally 2 - Joann's. Hit two sales when I'm there lol.

Yeah, I know, I know they do mail service as well but it's just not the same for me... I like to touch the fabrics lol.

Great score and I will remember that they have that fabric when I visit!

barnbum 07-26-2009 04:08 AM

They are pretty!!

For those of you who don't have a Joann's close: I'm on Joann's online newsletter and get coupon offers (40% off, etc) all the time to order online. You can probably get the wide backing that way. I don't order online. However, I did use a store coupon ond buy wide backing fabric in black and white for some curtains for my daughter's new kitchen. The fabric seems pretty decent quality. With a coupon, the price is great!

littlehud 07-27-2009 07:25 PM

I just love those wide backings. I need to check these out. Thanks.

PamH 07-28-2009 02:30 AM

Great fabrics, I have used the wide muslin, but now will check to see if my store has the other kinds. Thanks for the tip.

mytwopals 07-28-2009 07:27 AM

My JoAnn's has some of these 108" fabrics, too. I used a lavender one for my niece's quilt. They seem to be nicer fabrics, too.
