I need help deciding the way to go with this one. Any ideas, please. I hope this pic goes thru.

Oh, I forgot to tell you if you are wondering why it isn't all sewn together, I am QAYG this one with 4 sections.

I like it. I think I would put a narrow white border around and then do a wider 'piano key' border using the colors in your blocks.

I agree with burnsk. White with a piano key.

A piano key border would look great.

I was thinking exactly the same thing even the narrow white border. Just had to have it confirmed. I also saw a post with a 6 patch border. It looked neat. Well, I say exactly, but I was thinking of sewing strips together and cutting them to width. I didn't call it a piano key. How wide are the strips for the piano key border. Or do you do it a different way?

Ditto, as above....great job

I agree with everyone, narrow white border and piano keys would look great.

I was thinking the same thing! I love piano key borders!

I'd like to see a narrow border and then a six inch border from some kind of paisley fabric.

I notice everyone seems to agree on the white inner border, but sorry, I must disagree. My opinion - I feel the white will get lost in the big white squares and looked srooked in spots -- try something dark, dark brown or black, and narrow - about 1" finished width, then add the piano keys or whatever you choose, about 3".

Judy, I had thought of the white going into the white blocks. Hmmm, what to do.

n2scraplvr 08-12-2010 09:02 PM

The majority of the blocks are red/burg. so I would frame it first with inner border of that color and then piano key border or something similar. I just love this pattern and yours looks great!! :!: ;-) :D 8-)

I would like a black border. Just a narrow one. It would frame the quilt. Then a piano key border would be pretty.

Nothing needed. BUt if you want something, stop it with a dark colored border and then anything else in a larger border that might work. Audition some of your fabrics with it.

Beautiful quilt by the way. I see a lot of brown in that one so you might consier that color for inner border or even the outter.
