Can anyone tell me if this is a featherweight?

karenpatrick 09-12-2011 10:09 AM

No, I don't think so. Featherweights have a fold out arm to the left of the needle.

Lacelady 09-12-2011 10:09 AM

No, it isn't. A Featherweight has a little fold up flap on the left hand side .

msdrae 09-12-2011 10:11 AM

No it is not, but it is a great looking machine.

You can use this website to visually identify the model:
http://www.sandman-collectibles.com/...achines.htm#11

and this one to identify by the serial number:
http://www.singerco.com/admin-suppor...serial-numbers

Good luck & let us know what you find out. :)

Actually I believe it's a Model 66 from the Red Eye decal, unless that's a different decal and I'm not seeing it well enough. The Featherweights are very small machines, never have those fancy decals on them, and weigh only 11 pounds approx. This one is heavy and large.

Even if it isn't a featherweight, it sure is attractive!
Enjoy!

No...It's a "Redeye or sometimes called Redhead"...I have one...Love it great straight stitch...Mine is 1910 and thread right to left...Takes class 66 bobbins (metal) found them at Joann's in the Singer section...
