I bought this sewing cabinet over 15 years ago, had it in my living room and foyer over the years. When I got interested in quilting 18 months ago and found this board, I read about all the vintage machines and their lovers. Then I thought, there is a machine in that cabinet. Well I unearthed her last night and looked up all the info on her. I am a proud owner of a 1927 Singer Model 66 Treadle. The manual for the machine was in the drawer of the cabinet and it machine works, missing only the spool pin on top. Serial # AB724262.

Here is my new beauty

Beautiful machine! Did you buy it for decorative reasons or did you always sew and then started to quilt 18 months ago? You can get some real exercise sewing with a treadle.

I have my grandmother's like yours (1925 Model 66) but yours is in much better condition. Are you going to sew with it?

Ahhhhh!!! Your treasure is revealed!! You seriously need to post pics on both the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop thread and on the Vintage Sewing Machine Pictures thread. Everyone on the VSMS is waiting to see this girl!! Thanks!!

Janice, I posted the pictureson VSMS too. Thanks for telling me that. Now I got to see if she sews, but will have to wait til I get back from a little trip.

Lovely machine. The brownish stain on the metal is residue from old oil - certainly doesn't look like the dreaded rust. Get cleaning and the machine will soon look fantastic, and then you won't be able to wait to use it! Click on my name above my avatar to get to my profile and you will find the link to our Youtube channel. There you will find my tried and tested method for machine cleaning. Be sure to post pictures once the machine is done up - I'm looking forward to seeing it.
