I think the purple is going to be an excellent color choice for this.

Great block! How are you going to quilt your quilt? Just asking because if you are going to outline quilt your blocks by machine, it might be difficult to get in around the edges of the embroidery with the beads. If you are going to hand quilt it, no problem.

Beautiful as usual! I have the large top piece of 'walking in a winter wonderland' to trace and embroider for my quilt. I agree the tracing is the hard part (except for the small letters) I was in a hurry on one and spent more time trying to correct it than it would have taken if I had just....slowed....down....

Embroidery is very addicting, lol, and you just add to my addition lol!!! I was so happy to have a weekend of rain, my excuse to embroidery as much as I could.

Thanks so much,It sure is, I just keep fiding another ad another one to do. My walking in a winter wonderland took first place, chairman'e chooise award and people's choise award, I was so thrilled. I did this one in purple as well. I.m entering over the river this year, doe in black/white. Good luck with your's and don't forget to post pictures.

Instead of tracing you could use Transfer eze or the Sulky brand that copies the pattern onto the fabric using your printer at home.

kwiltkrazy 08-02-2013 08:09 PM

Wow!!!! I love Halloween

fxsts93kf 08-02-2013 08:19 PM

I too love Halloween! Yours looks wonderful with the beads! I'm new to embroidery, working on my first redwork project now, and I'm wondering what stitch it is your using overall on yours. Might sound like a dumb question but I'm so new to it that I can't tell from the picture. I just really like the look of your stitches.

QM 08-03-2013 01:29 AM

great block. Be sure to share as you continue

buddy'smom 08-03-2013 01:54 AM

Thank you, I use the backstitch a lot. Alot of these patterns are on the large size so wouldn't fit in printer, (I don't have one either)). I use the top of my hope chest and ott light and works out great.
