Had no problems quilting thru the extra fabrics in the center. I first used my stretched Juki to quilt most everything but then changed over to my new Innova machine to finish the crosshatched centers. Can't tell one machine left off for the other machine which makes me very happy. My main concern was quilting over the embroidery designs but find after asking on this digest whether folks do it or not, that it didn't show up as much as I thought it would. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Thanks for looking.

If I remember, I embroidered after I put the block together. The 10-minute block video can be found on Youtube. Its quite easy and really only 10-minutes or less to put each one together. This block came out a little over 14 inches from 5- 8-8.5 inches squares. Can't remember which I used now but it doesn't take many to put a quilt together if you need a quick quilt.

My quilt ended up at 66.5 x 66.5 with blocks at 14.5 square. The 5 squares I think started at either 8 or 8.5 each, my large border is 5.25 and small border at 1.25, sashing between blocks is 2.5 wide. You can make your blocks whatever size you want from what the video states but I don't think I would go any smaller than 5.5 or 6 inches as it gets a little difficult when making that last stitch. Just my opinion though.
