I've got 2 totally different looks to my D9P quilts. One is B&W & Turquoise with sashings and cornerstones, set on point. The other is just a scrappy look with all the blocks set together in a straight setting. After doing the two, I really like the one with the sashing best. It's also easier to work with the bulk. When you do them without sashing, sometimes the seams aren't opposite and can be a pain if you don't want to repress everything.
I'm hoping to get the B&W one quilted this weekend too...started at the least. Sorry the pics aren't capturing the whole quilt...my "quilt holder" is working and I'm winging it on my own. :) |
Beautiful quilts. Adding the sashing to the first one was genius. Thanks for the idea!

I thought I would like one more than the other but I love them both and could not decide if I did like one more than the other. You have done an excellent job on both of them. The colors are well coordinated Thanks for sharing.

I really like the sashing on the D9P. Both are beautiful.

Love your quilts! Thanks for showing how setting on point, with sashing and cornerstones changed the look so much, one may not recognize it as a D9P.

Oooohhh I like the BW and turquoise! Lovely combo!! As for the quilt holder... don't they know where the priority is?? LOL

I like them both. It always amazes me how one little change can affect the outcome of the pattern. Very pretty.

Both nice - but I really really like the black, white, and turquoise one!

What a difference the sashing makes! And I always like diagonal lines -- and your posts! I look forward to reading them. Thanks for posting!

Pretty! Show us the finished ones, okay? I would love to know how you will quilt them.
