I'm glad to hear others say that about the pattern, I thought it was just me but yes, it does seem confusing and once you get it, its amazing how easy it is!

I took the measurements to my local hardware store and had them cut a piece of plexiglass to the size. Then I took the stick on ruler tape that comes in a roll and and put a piece of that down the middle starting at the beginning of a one inch mark so that it would be accurate. I did this because I didn't find the ruler at a price I wanted to spend. It cost me less than $4 to make.

That is so cool.

I went back and researched it again. I got the measurements here from someone called Magpie who posted it in answer to someone else's question I guess. I got it through googling. Anyway, it is:

22.5 inches long. 1 inch wide at one end and 4.78 wide at the other end. This includes the 1/4 inch seam allowance.

I am going to try to attach a pic of the markings so that you can see what is on the original ruler in addition to the strip of tape like I put on mine.

Not sure if either of these will appear but am giving it a try. If not, PM me with you email address and I will see what I can do that way.
