Just finished these 2 quilts. Bev inspired me to do something with the blocks I had hand embroidered when I was laid up with a broken ankle. The green is a kind of scrappy DP9, wish I had used a few more brights but I was trying to use up scraps from pj pants that I had made. Thanks for looking, I am not so good at photographing

Susy,
You just helped me decide how to work up a quilt my mom did redwork on blocks of muslin for me! So pretty the work you did! My mom embroidered our family names, birthdates, etc. on muslin about three years ago. I've had them in my wips sitting there waiting for me to decide how to work them into a quilt top. They are all embroidered with red thread, too, cause that's the color I knew I wanted 10 years ago when she started it. Things change, tastes change, but I'm going to make this work, with your inspiration. Hugs, Sharon |
Very nice quilts!

Thank you, I love anything red! Glad I could help you on your decision on what to do with your blocks, you all have been so much of an inspiration to me, for sure!

Both are lovely, especially your hand embroidery. That's an art almost lost now.

Beautiful quilts. Your red work is wonderful. Great job.
|
They are both darling! I adore your red work!

I think they are both great. The one with the embroidery is especially lovely. I've been doing embroidery the past few weeks, as I've been laid up after having foot surgery. I hope I can turn my blocks into something as cute as yours!

Thanks again, I have a bunch more things embroidered (again, from the broken ankle, its tough being laid up like, that, eh, the days feel so long), hopefully someday I will get to them too. right now Bev has me hooked on the wonky blocks, she is very inspiring.

I love both of them. You redwork is wonderfu,l and one of these days I hope to do some redwork. I love the sashing. I really like how you did the D9P. Gives me a great idea for some of the coordinating samples I put together today. I love doing D9P quilts.
