2 WIP charity quilts
2 Attachment(s)
I have had several WIPs that were on hold because I fell and injured my wrist a bit. I could not do ironing or quilting. Today, a friend did the ironing for me. These will be fore the rehab hospital that did such a wonderful job with DH after his recent stroke. I gave them one and we promised them 5 more.

Those are wonderful, how thoughtful to do the best job. Hope your wrist heals fast.
They are terrific!!
They are wonderful, so graphic. I love the stars, the setting in the first, and the unusual star in the second. Very very sharp
Both are beautiful!
Both are GREAT ! what is the pattern for the first one ?
Two more great contributions! Bless you for your generosity. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
The center of the first is an exceptionally pretty cheater block from a garage sale (a guild sister is having to give up quilting and is selling off her stash Most of the fabrics in these 2 are from that garage sale.). Another of my WIPs uses the same cheater block. My LQS recently had fabrics with 2+" longitudinal stripes of patriotic designs. I took 2 of those stripes and subcut 45* diamonds to make that star. I had not done this before, but I surely will again. |
way to pay it forward. good luck with everything
Great job and thank you for sharing and will keep you and hubby in our prayers Have a Blessed day Ellen
Those are pretty. Hope your wrist is healing well and fast.
Both are really beautiful!!!
Really like these quilts. Favorite is the second one love how you did the star. Does this star have a name or did you just wing it? Hope both you and your DH and doing better. BrendaK
Gorgeous!! Isn't it so annoying not to be able to quilt?? Hope you and hubby heal fast.
Very Nice ! I especially like the second one. they are both very pretty Great Job ! So good of you to share.
What a great opportunity to "give back"! They're beautiful.
Very nice quilts and so nice of you to make for the hospital.
What beautiful quilts and for such a great group of people!
Very nice!
BrendaK, the star is actually a LeMoyne, whichis made with 45* diamonds. What makes this look unusual is the fact that I cut my diamonds across 2 stripes of fabric. One could, of course, get the same effect by sewing 2 long strips together then cutting the diamonds.
Both are very pretty but I really like the 2nd one the best!! Nice job!
WOW! They are gorgeous! :)
I hope your wrist has healed!!!! |

Yes, it is a circle. She and I often help each other out. Now that my wrist is mainly back up to par, I finished off the rest of the quilts and will deliver them this week.
Beautiful.............
Thank you all. The first is one of several QAYG lap quilts I've done recently putting a central block on point and adding strips around that, log cabin style. It is remarkably fast for a quilt that, IMHO, looks rather sharp. I think this is a good way to use large orphan blocks, square panels and some large scale prints.
