The theme this year was "Not your Grandmother's quilt". So, here's some that fit that category.

Here's one that had so many beads on it that it was super heavy!
Here's some more odds & ends. There's more, but I think you got a good idea as to what the show was like. Hope everyone enjoys!! P.S. Sure was glad to see you Toni! |
Thanks for the eye candy! Super quilts and I hope you got a close up of the hankie quilt made into ladies dresses! A lot of talented quilters there.
|
thanks for sharing the photo's
we always get ideas for quilts from show s |
Whew! That was a lot of work getting what I did loaded! There were more there, the usual Judy Niemeyer's & one that shouldn't have gotten a ribbon at all! The entrant won the quilt from another guild & entered it into this show as her own! How tacky!!
The quilting was absolutely out of this world on some of these quilts. When you hear "the quilting makes the quilt", it definitely showed at this show! If you guys/gals are considering putting quilts into shows, please let your longarmer play with the quilting design. That's what these blue ribbon winners did & it brought them home the big ribbons. You know of some of us that do custom right here on this board. Or use some of your local longarmers. It's worth it! |
beautiful quilts!
|
I agree if they had no part in the quilt, it shouldn't be entered. but I guess if the piecer and quilter are recognized that might be ok. I just thought the one who had a "hand" in it were the ones who were considered the entrants.

For those of you that want to see the quilt that was the raffle quilt that was won & entered, here it is. I didn't think I had taken a picture of it.
|
I think the ladies who actually MADE the quilt should take lots of pictures while it has the ribbon on it. The next time they are selling tickets for a raffle quilt, they can show their work is prize winning quality. Kind of sad that the raffle winner will get the ribbon rather the people who did the work.

Thank you for posting the pictures. Wonderful quilts and I got to see some of the quilt show right here in my living room!

Thanks so much for taking us with you!

All are gorgeous, but I seem to like the 2 color quilts, the red & white pop out at me...Thanks for sharing
|
I agree with what coachmatthewsvhs said. I'd see one and think that was my favorite but then I'd see the next picture. What talent!!! Can't even begin to imagine the amount of time the quilter put into the wholecloth. It was magnificent!! Can't say as I envy the judges with having to make the decision of who deserved which ribbon.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you for sharing all the beautiful quilts!!!!
|
Thank you. I enjoyed the quilt show, spent no money and my feet don't even hurt.
|
Very pretty pictures. I do agree with Tartan that the raffle quilt maker should get the ribbon rather than the winner.
