The last 2 yrs my sister and I have quilted together during our summer visits. She wanted to do a version of the Spicy Spiral Tabletopper for her DMIL, but wanted it to be round to go on an antique coffee table. She had chosen 12 fabrics and planned to use a 10 degree wedge ruler. My husband made a compass type tool from a piece of masonite, a yardstick, a screw and a pen. We made a paper pattern so we could estimate the number of wedges needed, how wide to cut the strips and how many strip sets she needed. Three heads came up with a good plan! Here is her result, she did an awesome job and I know her DMIL will be thrilled with it. The fabrics are her taste and will look great in her beautiful farm house.
