2nd QOV
2 Attachment(s)
Hello Quilters! This is my second top I have made for QOV. I will show the blocks I almost stripped, then decided to do this way with the panel. I was given 2 panels to make into tops and my friend was given one. My friend decided she couldn't figure it out, so gave me hers to make, so now I still have another panel to make into a top. I used the corners I cut from my stars, to make the flying geese. This one was fun. Now I have to think of something for the last one........

A fantastic quilt. One any service person will treasure.
|
Wow!!! Quite an accomplishment
Great job. Congratulations |
Just beautiful! Those stars around the border really set the center off... like fireworks!
|
I love them both! Isn't the quilt of valor a nice way to thank someone for their service to our country?
|
Wow, both are great. And a great cause! I just found out about a shop - not quite local but only an hour away, that has a group making QOV quilts. Now I’m motivated to make a couple of them. It’s been a few years since I participated In QOV Quilts. Yours have motivated me again.

Wonderful quilts. I think this is such a wonderful outreach to those who have served our country so well. I appreciate those who reach out to our veterans. Your work will be appreciated starting with your friends on the Quilting Board.

Stunning!!

That looks great!
|
Very nice!

Absolutely gorgeous and you did such a wonderful job. Love the blocks that go around the panel. Someone is going to be a lucky person to receive this gift.
|
Well I am glad to hear you're participating again. I was asked to join a year ago. I thought at the time, things had to slow down, get better, so I could have the time. Well, a year later 'life' is the same and I thought I may as well join because things always can get in one's way (excuses). It's the best thing I've done for myself. I am at the point in life where we are both retired and too much time together.:D I enjoy meeting with the ladies and getting out of the house. It seems we stay home and are 'available' to babysit at the drop of a hat and because we don't have a 'job' anymore whatever else we do isn't as important, or so they think. Now I have something to do that's important to me and gets me out. I've met new friends and the pride of hearing from and meeting the Vets, at the presentations fills me with emotion.

I was afaid it might be too much and even though it would have looked good with sashing or stripping, I wanted some piazzas!:D

:thumbup::thumbup: That is a great QOV top. It looks like you did a wonderful job keeping everything square and even, which is sometimes a challenge when working with panels like that. I love the stars!

That looks great, thank you for posting as I have a panel for a QOV and have been thinking about how I want to lay out the rest of the quilt and you have given me a very nice idea.

It will make a veteran feel appreciated. Thanks for your dedication.

I do hope I remember to take a photo. I know I want to at the presentation, when he is awarded the quilt. If I do, I'll sure show you. Thanks

Quilts of Valor is one of my favorite groups! Nice job. The veteran recipient should be honored and delighted.
