Sharon - NC 09-28-2013 08:26 PM

I clicked on this expecting to see a good effort by a seven-year-old. Instead, I see a beautiful quilt done as well as any "adult" quilter. What a young talent you have there! I love it!

mamajack3 09-28-2013 08:53 PM

Wow I'm impressed. Love to see the younger generation show an interest.

cdmmiracles 09-29-2013 02:44 AM

solstice3 09-29-2013 03:43 AM

She is precious and the quilt beautiful. Congratulate her on learning to sew.

mjsylvstr 09-29-2013 03:55 AM

I was hoping for the same with my granddaughter..but daily, it didn't last......You can be mighty proud of this young lady.

Shorebird 09-29-2013 04:12 AM

SEW PRETTY!! It is wonderful to have young ones interested in these crafts.......I have two granddaughters locally who have just started an interest in "sewing".......not sure either will keep it up......but it is nice teaching them...Your Granddaughter looks so very proud of her work...The quilt shows (IMHO) an amazing maturity in the selection of colors, and pattern......I think she will make many more beautiful quilts in her lifetime.......(PS - is there an age limit for membership on this Board? If not, she might be interested in joining on her own).

ontheriver 09-29-2013 04:22 AM

She is doing great work. Her quilt is so pretty. My granddaughters are still preschool age but I'm hoping they show an interest some day. My grandson is 13 and lives with me, he knows alot about quilting since he lives with it, he helps with design layouts and ideas but doesn't like to do any sewing. Right now all he is into is football.

Grace MooreLinker 09-29-2013 08:45 AM

Wow! what a talented grand daughter you have, OH! My! your long arm is just like the one I bought 4 weeks ago. I love it, how do you like your's? I have mine set up for 10 FT. Have you used the laser light to quilt with yet? I haven't but plan to try it soon. Thanks for sharing your grand daughter with us.

My GD aged 10, is interested in quilting and I know from my experience that it is so cool to build memories. I know you are proud of your GD. I wish you lots and lots of fun. Now you have a cohort and another reason to buy fabric!

kolacequeen 09-29-2013 09:17 AM

Great job! Binding can be boring.

grandmaemma 09-29-2013 10:05 AM

You're so very fortunate to have your granddaughter close, I have 2 - ages 3 and 6 altho they don't live near us. You have a beautiful granddaughter and beautiful quilt. I love the colors and pattern. Happy quilting !!

MargeD 09-29-2013 10:31 AM

What a talented GD you have, and 2 quilts by the time she was 8 years old. WOW. You are definitely a good teacher. I'm hoping my DGD might want me to teach her to quilt some day, but not sure she could sit still long enough. LOL.

IBQUILTIN 09-29-2013 10:35 AM

It is so wonderful to see so many young people getting interested in quilting. Gives one hope that the art will never die away. Congratulate her on a beautiful job

quiltmau 09-29-2013 10:56 AM

I was just at a show and several of us older folks wondered if we were the last of the dinosaurs who had learned from grandmothers/mothers/aunts. I am so glad to see such a beautiful young quilter with a passion for fabric. She may not do it every year. I took several years off due to family and jobs-now I am back at it and it brings me peace and comfort to know I am using ideas and techniques that my grandmother showed me.
A beautiful young lady and a beautiful quilt. She will remember this forever.
