i finally got these to the laundry, the only hassle with these is that i can't launder them at home. i am on septic and i'm not taking any chances
they are for my brother and his wife, and my sister. one of them will always snuggle up in my old rag quilt when they come to my house. i hope they like them. |
Great rag quilts! I love your fabric choices! :D

I love your rag quilts. I think they are so fun to make (except for the ragging part :) ) Nice job!

These quilts are so addicting until it is time to snip them .. then I think why o why did I volunteer myself AGAIN to make on of these!
Beautiful work! |
They really looks comfortable. I'd love to be curled up in one with some hot chocolate. The more I see of these rag quilts, the more I like them.

I love your choice of fabric . is it flanel ? Those came out very nice , makes me want to make one for myself, very nice :D
|
thank you, ruth. 2 of the quilts are flannel and the one with tans and reds and small plaids is made of homespun. i am thinking so far that may be my favorite.
|
you are so right loretta. i don't mind snipping either with the good spring loaded scissors. it makes all the difference.
|
Very pretty!
|
I love all 3!!!!!! Great job.

I have never done a rag quilt.. Looking at yours gives me the urge to try and make one... They are beautiful...

I have done 2 rag quilts of flannel and the spring scissors are a MUST! It's the washing and drying that are killer - have to stay around and clean up the washer then empty the dryer vent at least 3 times while they dry - I worry about fire and when you wash them they really put out the lint. I have washed the ones I made twice and they were still messy. I LOVE your materials and colors. Think I may try one for myself with the homespun. Did you line it with flannel or anything? Or just had the double layer homespun? Thanks for sharing.

hi rein,
thanks for the compliment. i don't dare wash or dry rag quilts at home for the first couple of times. i'm so afraid i would clog the drain. i schlepp them to the laundromat  i used homespun front and back, and cut scraps of batting 1 inch smaller than the squares of fabric. i haven't tried using flannel inside, but i may do that next. i usually have quite a lot of batting scraps. |
