Those are just darling ceanna. Makes me wish I had an embroidery machine. But where would I find the time? LOL You do such good work. :)

Those are lovely!!!
How big does your embroidery area go up to on your machine? Can you do hats?

ceannastahr 10-01-2007 12:22 PM

I think hats take a speical hoop I have seen it but don't have it. I have 2 differnt size hoops one is about 4x6 emb area the other aout 6 x 8 I'm still having loads of fun seeing what I can and can't do. One of these days I'm going to try free standing lace.

Very pretty!! The fushia fairy is my favorite. The black outline really makes her pop right of the piece!!

Ok I found another new one

I still get puckers but usually in an area that is heavily embroidered.

I have less probles now I iron the fabric then I use a washable glue sick and run a strip on all 4 sides then smooth the material onto the stablizer place top part of hoop on it and pick up the whole thing and place in the bottom part of hoop and tighten

Here are two images of a fairy pattern. I have the front and back included. Here is my process.

1) Spray fabric with heavy starch and press it.
2) Apply 1 piece of Sulky "Totally Stable" iron on tear away stabilizer.
3) Add 1 layer of a stiff tear away stabilizer.
4) Hoop fabric and stabilizer so fabric is taut.
5) Embroider :)

When finished remove both tear away stabilizers from around the design. I then repress the design from the back with a pressing cloth. If needed apply more starch.

I hope this helps :-)

That came out great I'll try starching first now to and see if it helps thanks for the tip I'm still figuring this stuff out

Your welcome and thank you!

How large is your hoop? I normally use a 5x7 or a 7x14. Always use the smallest hoop you can get away with. I am working hard at producing a large variety of products. Learning how to get everything correct is a time consuming process.

Have fun!!!
