3 Sizes of Log Cabin Santas 6 total

We have six grands and we
yearly gift them with ornaments but the Hallmark stores are closing down nearby. This year I decided to make them and used the pattern link that was posted by QuiltingNan. However, my mm to inches chart gave me two big ones. So I decided to go smaller and the little ones were only 5" square. Then I made two mid-size ones. Decorated them with button eyes, red glue-on crystal noses, hot-fix crystals at the log junctions for buttons, bigger pompoms for the hats. Really gave them some zing. Embroidered the dates on. They were really pleased and so I was. Thanks, ladies for the wonderful ideas and link. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Looking forward to the New Year's posts with beautiful pictures from everyone. |
Love those Santas!

Thanks Quilter 65... for the link I have printed it out...
Does any one remember the snowman link :) |
How cute they are. I like the "size range" that you have used.
|
Wow! Those are so cute . . . this has me thinking about "gifts" for next year!! Quilter 65 - the "zing" made these so special! Thanks for the link - I'll keep an eye out for the snowman link, too.

Rechecked the snowman link and it was a sitting up model, not a hanging one. But pretty doggoned cute. Reckon if the stuffing was lightweight, it could be made hanging as well. It was really decorated and so attractive.

Those came out great. They should enjoy those for years. Love the different sizes.

Sew totally cute. I'm printing that out now. I have plenty of Christmas fabric and with Winter Storm Goliath on its way, I should have some time.

OH MY GOODNESS!! is it too late for you to adopt me for Christmas??? LOL!! Love it and being a Santa collector since about 10 would love one. LOL!!!You'd think adter collecting for 55 years I'd have one. Where did you find the pattern please
|
These are soooooo sweet!!!!!

I forgot to mention that by the time I got to the third set, I attached the batting and did a flip and sew and it was already quilted when I finished. Also easier to attach buttons too. You will have to add a separate batting triangle for the hat before you seam it up. If I were doing it again, I would have done them all that way.

Thanks for the link. I sent you a PM about the snowman. These are adorable. BrendaK
