I made this quilt top last month. I was always afraid to try these, but it's actually pretty easy.
I used a template from Elisa's Backporch. http://www.backporchdesign.com/backporch.htm I used all 30's prints. I am not sure if I will add a border to this with a vine and flowers or not. I have never made a border like that and it would be fitting. Just not sure. It sort of feels "done" to me, so I may leave it as is. |
Beautiful Quilt. I have not tried a "drunkards path" yet

Lisa, that is really pretty, I think it says done.

Oh Lisa, how pretty! I just love the reproduction material I love old fashioned looking things and this certainly fits that description. As far as the border goes that is up to you ... am sure it would be beautiful but I am kinda like you it looks finished this way and the border might fight it for attention. I have never tried anything curved, I am still new at all this. But looks like you did an awesome job

Thanks guys!
(I am uploading a bunch of pictures today. Trying to avoid my chores. LOL!) Sharon, the curved seams were not hard AT ALL! That template made it really easy. I think it took only about a week to put this quilt top together. I think it went so fast because all you have is one seam and your block is done. That's it: one seam. Even a 4-patch has more than that! You should go for it- I was always afraid of these (and think the smaller templates might be a little harder to do) but this was a larger one and super-easy. |
Thanks for the encouragement, Lisa, I just might have to give that a try soon.
