The color scheme was due to several sets of FQ's and jelly rolls. the manufacturer's do such a good job of matching colors, it makes it a cinch for color clueless people like me. replaced the very bottom dark blue square in the other wise lite row with a better matched lighter block. decided on the borders, and making them now. dark navy 1.5 inch strip, then 2.5 on point squares. made them navy, with white tri's. don't know if I will stay with that or not. i'm taking it slow on the borders to get just what I want.

I think it would win ribbons at any quilt show because it is so gorgeous!

took the summer off from quilting. But got it finished.
had it quilted in a panogram? circular feathers.
started it in january 2017. had a knee replacement, kept the patterns on a thumb drive.
and i got tired of all those little dark 4 inch squares, and ended up making about a dozen 4 patches or other easier blocks and inserting them around. i think it made it much less busy. really happy with it.

I never would have had enough forethought to plan the colors like you did, which makes a world of difference IMHO, but I am a bit OCD, LOL. Yours came out gorgeous, but way beyond my expertise and patience.

i bought a FQ bundle and just used the colors in it. it had a variety of tans, greens, softer grays, etc. no planning to it, i just grabbed a color, then arranged the blocks so it looked nice to me.

Your quilt is beautiful and quite a reward for all your well spent time. Colors are so nice too.

That is gorgeous! I remember someone in my quilt guild starting that one a couple of years ago (?), but yours is the first one I've seen finished.

Sallybear6 09-07-2018 04:12 AM

My goodness, that must have taken hours to piece together. It is lovely and I love the colors. Very pretty!

soozieQ 09-07-2018 04:43 AM

That is beautiful! Congratulations thats a super lot of blocks. I especially like your blue and white combo. I always think you see the individual blocks better this way

Macybaby 09-07-2018 08:14 AM

Very nice! I've had mine on my bed the last several months. It's one I don't think I'll ever give away - too much work went into it!

You did a great job, especially with that center block (I threw my attempt away, it was so bad!). Congratulations for being so persistent and making a lovely quilt!

sewNso 09-08-2018 04:33 PM

this 365 quilt challange is really doable by just about anyone. she sends you the daily block via e-mail, or you can just go to her web site, and look them up. she keeps them for 3 months. i just uploaded each one to a thumb drive, that way when i got behind, i still had the pattern. all the blocks were rotary cut. so you really learn a lot making this quilt. accurate seams, and 1/2 square triangles, etc.

Barb in Louisiana 09-08-2018 06:52 PM

That is a wonderful quilt. The patience and diligence that it took is mind boggling to me. Kudos for sticking with it.

quilterpurpledog 09-09-2018 03:31 AM

I really admire your tenacity to such a long term project. Your quilt is absolutely beautifully. I like your consistent color combination. I, for one, will look forward to seeing it finished and quilted.
