My sisters and I get together to Stitch and B---- at least once a month. Sometimes we ( especialy me ) don't get a lot of sewing done but it's always a fun day
So creative. You all started with the same fabric and wound up with so many different creations Bravo
Colorful - wonderful pieces!
These are all so lovely I would hate to pick one over the other, however, I have been personally intrigued by the bowls. Thanks for sharing.
What a great challenge! Really love them all. I know the artist who makes that fabric and she is wonderful too!
What a talented family!

What a neat idea to do something so creative and also get to spent time with your sisters. Good job.
Sounds like you all get along well and that's a great start to your get together's! LOVE the challenge fabric and its colors and I think you all put it to very good use in your projects. Nice job, ladies!
I would have bought that fabric in a heart beat. I love all the projects, but I think sister 2 & are my favorites or maybe I just like quilts. Sounds like a fun group.
I love the fabric by itself...what's it called and where did you get it?...ps...I'd like to be a sister too....count me in for cake.
Thank you ladies for all your kind comments. It is nice to be appreciated by fellow sewers (as in sewing) and quilters. We bought the fabric last summer at Mary Jo's Cloth Store. Sorry, I don't know what line it is from. And for the lady who asked, I am sister no. 4 and the abstract is mine.
I love this idea...and the results!
These are all way too neat to pick a favorite!!! What a fun undertaking!!!
I am so JEALOUS !!!!!! What a wonderful time you must have.........Just curious, what do you do with the men??
In my wonderful dream, they would take care of the children and take over all cooking and kitchen duties. |
Sounds like such fun and creativity! I wish I had a sister!!! Keep up the good work because it sure is beautiful!

In my wonderful dream, they would take care of the children and take over all cooking and kitchen duties. Hi, I am sister #3. Usually only the husband of the sister who is hosting is present, the others men are usually not brave enough to show up. Last year our brother did come along with our sister in law and we made him our "kitchen b&*@h" .... he would bring us our coffee in the morning, chocolate in the afternoon and wine in the evening.....he's a good man! Our mother who will be 90 in January is coming along this year, so we'll have to behave...at least until she goes to bed! We are all meeting this Sunday at Sister #1's. Let the games begin! |
WOW they are all GREAT.
Yahoo sister #4 please please tell how you made your quilt. I love it a lot. |
i like sister #2's quilt! i like the circles.
GASP! Gorgeous each and every one. The size of the blooms look like it would have made a great fractured quilt. I've become enamored with the technique and have collected fabrics to start playing.
Impressive..... I love all of them. But I especially love the bowl, rug and pillow. I usually don't care a lick about bowls, rugs or pillows. WOW... great job. Quilt #2 is so unique. Great challenge results. I look forward to seeing your next challenge.

What a neat idea,, I love them all... never would of thought that fabric could of come out looking like that
I'm sister #2. A fractured quilt was what I had in mind but didn't have enough repeats so went with a convergence style with another piece of fabric I had been saving for just the right project and they happened to bump into each other while I was looking for something else. I added the flower circles to soften all those right angles. This was a lot of fun, my sister are the best!
I like the convergence quilt, but they are all nice. It looks like you all had a great time.
They are all beautiful. I can't pick just one. You all took such different directions and they all worked out great. Well done ladies, well done!!
What a fun tradition to get together like that :) And I like the idea of a challenge fabric. Everyone did a really great job, however, the pillow just jumped out and said "take me home" shall I send you my address :)
They are all awesome. My favorite is the bowl because it is so unique.
All of your projects are very beautiful. Can your long lost brother come and join you for some inspiration? I will go by a flannel granny night gown.
Wish I could get my sisters to quilt!! We get together every year...October this year at sister #2's house. We always have fun, but quilting would be a blast! I enjoy fishing, too, but my youngest sister is afraid of the water!

Sisters sewing group
My sister who was disabled due to Lupus and our niece, who was more like a sister, and I would sew together every Wed. We had so much fun, and got some work done, some machine embr. and quilting. My sister passed away and my niece moved across the country. I really miss those Wed. groups!
Y'all have fun!

My 3 sisters (and sometimes a sister in law) get together once or twice a year for our Sisters Sewing Soiree. Also knows as our TBASSSS or The B***** and S***** Sister Sewing Soiree. We have a wonderful time sewing and chatting and laughing. Kind of like weeklong slumber party with your best friends.
Last year we found a fabric that none of us would have purchased on our own. It became our Challenge fabric. We each bought a panel to design something with. Below are pictures of the original fabric, as well as a picture of the various projects. We are looking forward to choosing our challenge project for the next year. We had such fun doing this. Let us know what your favorite project is. :D This is our original fabric. Not one any of us would normally purchase. This Sister #1, who chose to cut her fabric into strips and make a basket. First pic is an inside view, and a front view is next. Beautifully done. Sister No. 2 made a large quilt. Once again, beautifully done. Sister No. 3 made this lovely pillow. I Love this one. Sister No. 4 made this smaller lap/nap quilt. Neat design. Sister (in Law) 5 didn't get any pictures in for this post. |
