I have been teaching him to sew by his request. He started out pulling the straight pens and then pushing the pedal and now he is guiding the material. He sewed quite a bit of this quilt. He made it for his 4 year old cousin. I had a blast and so did he.

It is darling! Doesn't it feel great helping the little one learn 'grown up' stuff? It makes them so proud - us, too!

That is awesome! My grandmother had me on her treadle sewing machine when I was 5 or 6 sewing quilt blocks together. Too bad she was so busy she didn't get me to make a whole quilt. This quilt is really cute. He did a nice job.

That's a wonderful quilt! Good for him. And he's so generous to give it up to his cousin. I'll bet he wanted it for himself!

I think we underestimate what our kids are capable of. This little guy will grow with lots of confidence with this kind of guidance.

I have a question... when you finish a rag quilt, is it okay to put a traditional binding on it? Is it better to bind or not bind? I am making one with my DSIL soon. BTW, love your quilt
