54-40 Churn Dash

Hi Quilters! I’m not sure what the pattern is called, or if there is a name, but those are the two blocks I used. It’s a lot of cutting and sewing HST, 4P and rails, before you can even start the blocks. And then it’s all those seams!!! Where the CD points and the Star points meet is nightmare of thickness, even though I pinked my edges and pressed seams open, to reduce bulk. Glad to be finished. It took me longer than I wanted to spend on it. I started cutting it out Tuesday morning and today is Friday and that’s sewing all day, each day( except for cooking🙄😩 as I have a husband who thinks he still needs to eat-lol) I was hoping to finish it at least by today, because tomorrow Avery is spending the day with me. Second picture is backside showing all those seams!😳 This will go to one of our veterans, on my most recent list of 10. I think I need to make 2 or 3 more, before I’m caught up. Well that’s not exactly true. Emily, another member just asked me to help her make 5. It turns out one of hers is a 103 year old veteran that was at the presentation, for a 98 year old, we just awarded a quilt too. We met him at the assisted living facility where they both live. I guess I’ll stay stitching!-lol

This is wonderful! Looking at it from the 2 different perspectives, you can see so many different things in it. Great job.
Impressive. The back is as orderly as the front!
Great job. The colors made a stunning quilt
Thank YOU for your service to our Veterans! Beautiful quilt!
Very striking! I haven’t seen that combination before, and it is wonderful!
Wonderful quilt.
I love your quilt and the colours are perfect for it. It's on my bucket list, won't get to it for a while yet. Thank you for sharing.
Love it! That is one luck veteran, I know he or she will love it.
Lovely top!
Wonderful quilt. Congratulations.
Toogie, this quilt turned out amazing...and I hope you can stand up straight after your marathon sewing days to make it!
A beautiful quilt. Lovely in every way.
Another knock out Toogie! I don’t know where you find the time or the energy but you are a wonderful lady to give so much of your time and talent to so many wonderful organizations! I will have to put this on my bucket list, beautiful.
Really nice.
What a beautiful patriotic piece of art! Very impressive front and back.
My goodness..you must never sleep. Your productivity and quality are amazing. As much effort as this was, it is gorgeous and the Veteran who receives it will be thrilled.
So pretty! I love it!
It's fabulous and will be treasured!
Beautiful, Toogie!
What a beauty, Toogie! And such a good cause.
That's a great-looking quilt. I'm thinking of a scrappy version with the stars and border in one color, the churn dashes in another, and the background and four patches scrappy.
Great job. Now that you've done one, you have probably learned a lot and the next one will go faster and be easier.
Wow! totally gorgeous! On my screen the colors are maroon, black and white. May I assume that is a dark navy since it is a QOL?

Beautiful quilt!!! You should be very proud of your work!
Your artistry and sewing talent never cease to amaze me. Even though you use the same colors, there is so much variety and creativity to each one that they all end up being unique and special in their own way. Q0V is truly blessed to have you sewing for them.
Excellent job! Some veteran will enjoy that quilt.
