Absolutely lovely quilt. I am very glad that you have gifted this early...it will provide love and warmth as they gather strength this winter to fight the fight. He has youth on his side-healing hugs and prayers to all.

Prayers for your nephew and that quilt is beyond beautiful! I've always loved the 54-40 (or Fight!--and that is exactly what your nephew is doing!) block and your colors and the border--wow! And your quilting is wonderful--bet you will win at the fair and your nephew will have some good outcomes, too!

This is a 67 x 83 inch quilt I made for my nephew and his fiance’. They wanted their wedding colors of gray, burgundy and burnt orange. When I had the top finished just 7 weeks ago, my 25-year-old nephew was diagnosed with a fast-growing non-hodgkins lymphoma stemming from a kidney transplant 10 years ago. He underwent major surgery and is continuing chemo. Their October wedding has now been pushed to May 2020. It was difficult to work on the quilt because of such worry and sadness for him. I intend to enter it in our county fair and gift it to them in October so they can use it this winter since it has a heavy flannel on back. The 4 angels I appliqued in the corners will hopefully watch over them while they continue this cancer journey. Life sure can throw curve balls!

Gorgeous. I love lack and white with a touch of red.

I hope his chemo goes smoothly.
The quilt is incredible....those borders are fabulous! They will definitely enjoy it this winter. |
