Your aunt looks so happy. We too have found batting and scraps in old barrels -must have been the 'norm'.

How nice that you were able to restore the quilts. And I applaud you for getting together with your aunt and other family members. Nursing homes can be a lonely place.

I love that first quilt. What a great family heirloom. And what a creative way to use the other fabrics. Everyone will have a little of her to keep with them. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.

After my husband's mother died Christmas day 2006 at the funeral someone said "We have to quit meeting like this.. the following February 2007 we started meeting every month. We have about 25-30 every month. Mostly all cousins of this Aunt's sisters.. She as I said is 94 the oldest sister and the youngest 81 are the only ones left. They are all wonderful... Whe she got the quilts back she started talking about who had dresses made out of which fabrics... It was sooo fun. Then someone had sent a quilt that their mother had and wanted Aunt to tell us who the people were being as her name before she was married was embroidered on it.. and she could tell us who all the people were!!! We have so much fun with her...
