Thought I would show my 9-11 quilts in honor of the date. The first one is made with firemen's patches collected just after 9 -11. It hangs in the Firemen's union hall in our town. The second one is from a challenge last year. This one was a collaboration of three of us. It was donated to Fischer House at our Air Force Base, a place where wounded soldiers and their families can stay while the soldier is undergoing treatment or rehabilitation.
It was made from a kit I got at quilt shop. It is hand appliqued and hand quilted. |

LIke many people I know, my response to the original date was to start quilting with tears in my eyes. My DH was in our local volunteer fire dept then, so the dept. gave may quilt to the NYFD.
