Great job!! They will remember this Christmas for a very long time.

Amazing & beautiful quilts! As others said, the pics of the kids & their quilts are touching and heartwarming. Those may be the happiest kids in a Christmas picture I've ever seen.

What a lucky and clearly appreciative family!

Impressive to say the least!

julieah :-)

those are all really great!!

Lyndawn, are those beautiful children your grandchildren?

The quilts are way past gorgeous. The kids, wrapped in

their blankets, looks like a NormanRockwell painting. I really

hope that you are busting your buttons with pride.

Mine, too. And since I've "mastered" the D9P (thanks to all the great people on this board), I recognized it at once.

Those yellow, orange, and white quilts are great.

All those gorgeous kids are actually 3rd cousins of my Dh (I think 3rd). We all call all the adults aunt and uncle so to them they are my nieces and nephews. The whole family gets together on Christmas and 4th of July. That's the only time we see everyone at once. Some of them I"ll see here and there, but not all.

thanks all.

They are beautiful--the uilts as well as the children. You did a wonderful job!

so beautiful and so much work. How do you stay motivated? I fall in love with my projects but get so easily drawn to the next one. Is that some kind of quilters anxiety/energy? anyway, thanks for sharing all those smiles and your work is so awesome. C

lyndawn 01-03-2009 10:54 AM

I don't stay motivated..LOL I have lots of UFOs too! I had a goal set and other people knew I was making them for Christmas. I felt obligated to finish them. I also wanted to be able to work on what I wanted of my own without the guilt of leaving them unfinished for another year. I work better when I have deadlines. If I can convince myself something has to be done by a certain time, I will push as hard as possible to finish it.

Your quilts are stunning! I really love the Kaliedescope. I've done that pattern but my finished quilt isn't nearly as gorgeous as yours.

key4unc 03-31-2009 10:58 AM

I love all your quilts. But I'm especially drawn to the blue/brown one. Is that a disappearing nine-patch pattern?

mpspeedy 03-31-2009 11:14 AM

Fantastic! How did you or they ever decide who got which one? That would have been a very hard decision since they are all wonderful.

RedGarnet222 03-31-2009 11:15 AM

How cute all these kids are! Boy, do they look happy with thier new quilts.

Can you send us a pic and let us decide? We always think someone else's work is better than our own. That's because we worked so long and hard and we see all the "mistakes." I'd bet yours is beautiful, too. I do love the kaleidoscopes.

lyndawn 03-31-2009 03:45 PM

Thank You:) I made each one specifically for each child. The ones that had special interests or favorite colors got their quilt made to fit.

The blue and brown is a D9P.

the butterly kaliedescope was hard. don't know if you can tell from the picture but the cornerstones are 4- 1" squares. Each one of the 1" squares corresponds with the block diagonal from it. That was tough because it had to be laid out to do it and I don't have a lot of space.

OMG Lynette, that is so amazing. I would have never been able to coordinate that. You are a genius.

Great job and look at all those happy faces!!

lyndawn 03-31-2009 07:24 PM

That is so sweet GailG, but I am far from genius..LOL Dh would be rolling on the floor if he saw that..LOL

It was one of the best Christmases I ever had! It totally beat my expectations!

I'll dig a picture out and post it. Right now I'm off to teach a canding making class so don't have time to hunt through my computer quilt files for the picture.

Look at all those wonderful smiles. I can't begin to imagine how much time you spent on all those quilts.
