You have saved what will become a family heirloom. She did a wonderful job on the top, you should be proud of her, and of course yourself too for the time you spent saving it. I just love it.

Great quilt. Yes, it was too pretty to toss out. I'm glad you were able to take it apart and then have it quilted properly with good batt and backing. That will turn out to be a treasure. Great job.

sewgray 12-16-2011 04:35 PM

I love surprises and that is going to be one big surprise. The babies are beautiful and so is the quilt.

jojosnana 12-16-2011 05:05 PM

I think DD will love the quilt. A nice gift I think. But best of all those two babies are simply the best gift of all.

sew cornie 12-16-2011 05:08 PM

Laurie, it's beautiful! Regardless of your DD's request to throw it out, the quilt must have meant a lot to her to have held on to it all these years. What a lucky little girl your DGD is to receive this gift, which is really a collaboration of the work of her Mama and Grandma together. I'm sure she'll treasure it as she grows. :0)

LindaMRB 12-16-2011 05:17 PM

You definitely did the right thing! I think she made great fabric/color choices and I like the pattern too!
