Love all your quilts, very pretty. Could you please tell me the pattern name of #1? Thinking of doing that for DGN

WOW!!! talking about a dumb question. I went back and looked at it and see it is the same. I thought it was done with strips. Those red, green, etc colors looked like they were strips. Excellent work. To be there some day.
Practice, Practice, Practice!

like you colors.

MargeD 06-14-2016 02:58 PM

Great job on all the quilts.

I now use Elmer's school glue for binding so no pins in the way. I am one of those that would rather sew binding on that piece tops. I am much better at it.

No pattern--just playing with hst... I used my design wall to make decisions.

Great job! Love the colorful quilts and the jewel tones of the batiks.

kaylfordsollimo 06-15-2016 11:15 PM

Very nice. Looks like you could listen to a couple of books on tape and have a good time with these.

Very pretty quilts and yes, you do have a lot of hand stitching to do to finish the binding. However, it is so relaxing to sit and stitch at intervals. I am like you, I like the hand finished look.

Rich quilt colors- great combinations. Love your work.

I have begun using a "flange binding" which allows you to sew each side by machine. I also like the effect of the 2 color binding -so fast and easy. Here is an easy tutorial http://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/2...-tutorial.html

Nice done on all of them!

intoquilting 06-19-2016 05:41 PM

I have a pile too. I just don't like doing the hand sewing to finish the bindings.

kwiltkrazy 09-29-2016 08:17 PM

really stunning quilts

Becky's Crafts 09-30-2016 04:08 AM

All four are beautifully done, but that last one is gorgeous!!!

I hate binding. I have several that are at that stage. Some haven't even gotten that far just cause I don't want to do all the basting etc. to get it ready. How lazy can I be? No, please don't answer that.

This summer I figured out the whole machine binding step. Fro most pieces, I sew binding on from the front--then machine sew from the back--matching the bobbin to the front. I can even miter my corners sweetly. But the best part is NO hand sewing for hours. I wouldn't machine bind everything... but for wall hangings, it's perfect.
