Here is the flower quilt I've been working on recently. I think I made a boo boo and need some advice on what to do.
The measurements are 50 x 80 give or take 1/4 inch. I think it needs to be wider, but I really dread pulling off the borders. Can anyone suggest what to do? I have odd scraps of fun colored fabric that I thought I could add to increase the size, but how? Add 4 block squares with a sash in between, or maybe some random strips all around. Here are some pics of the quilt. It does not cover the mattress when it is on the bed. |
I don't know, but it is very pretty!

Sorry I can't help you enlarge it, but just wanted you to know that I love that quilt.
Pray about it and then you will be able to do it - Matthew 19:26. |
Do you have enough left over fabric to make a piano key border?
I just love those colors you used! It's beautious! |
That quilt top is really stunning!
How about adding some single blocks made out of the same fabric as the four patch blocks and in the same size going all the way around and adding the same sashing fabric as spacers between blocks to make it the right length. |
how much larger do you want to make it?
|
I would use the fabrics used in the blocks and add them around the out side..... either made into smaller blocks or in a piano key board border.... think either would look great.

how much bigger do you want it to be and what fabric do you have left over?
|
I think I will try the piano keyboard on it. I should be able to weed in some other fabric that should blend in nicely. I want it to be a twin size. As you can see the top isn't large enough to cover the mattress. Thanks for your help.

I think a scrappy border made with your leftover fabric would be really pretty. I think that's what the others are calling piano keys!
