Hi all! I'm hoping you can share your experience with me. I am getting ready to quilt this top, (on my DSM) and am at a loss as to color of thread to use and design. Any ideas? Oh! the back is mostly the same red as the small border but with a center of the same blocks from the front.

Red White and Black

Why not use red? It would pull the accent color into all the blocks.

Grey

You could get a black & white varigated. or I like the idea of the red as well.

Just a question but is there a square that is backwards? The third square down on the left, its direction is diffferent then the others on the outside. Before you get it all quilted I just thought you may want to know about that.

I would do the red.

I have to agree...is the square backwards?

Wow I am glad she caught that too before it is quilted. Your top is gorgeous. I thnk I would use white. It is really pretty!
 Did you use a pattern? If so what is the name and size of your top? Please post pix of the finished quilt!

Try laying different colors of thread on the quilt top. Sometimes, I've even quilted small sections of the quilt using different thread colors. In doing this, I could see the actual results of each thread color and it's very easy to take out the stitching.

Personally, I would want a thread that would support the high contrast of the quilt. It's absolutely beautiful! Please post a photo when you finish.
