Ah Ha Moment

I haven't been successful in wrapping long lengths of binding on tubes, but I came up with this as an alternative....we all have those little scrap bags next to our machines...I emptied mine and stuck my rolled up binding in there and it worked like a charm.

Very clever! I don't have one of those bags but your idea sure inspires me to make one. I wrap my binding around the spool from the big thread cones but like you mentioned it doesn't work real well for me either but it does work well for storing the binding until I am ready to attach it. We will be getting a picture of the quilt you are working on soon, right?

You are so smart!!!

great idea, i'll be binding a quilt next week and i'll try it. thanks

I sort of do the same thing. I roll it on a tp roll and then drop it in a small plastic container on the floor. Rolls around in the container, but doesn't hop out! Ann

Very great idea. I have one. I will be using it next binding/

I roll my binding on an empty paper towel roll, put it on a paper towel holder (the kind that goes on the countertop) and sit it on the floor to my right and it just pulls off as I sew the binding on. It works great.

Very creative! Good way to improvise!

LOVE the great idea!
