Airplane - Freezer paper pieced
2 Attachment(s)
On June 6th I watched a live FB tutorial on freezer paper piecing by devotedquilter.com and we could use whatever pattern we wanted. I chose an airplane from my Carol Doak foundation factory sized to 8" and once I had made one, I decided I liked the block and made up nine for a baby quilt. Today I finished straight line machine quilting it. It was a fun tutorial and really great that you don't have to rip away any paper when you are done. Front and back pictures.

Nice quilt! I'll have to check that block out...who knew it would turn out so pretty! Good choice....

Cute - the backing made me think of planes landing on a runway.

I have a friend who would love doing that quilt for her son who is a pilot. Very nice finish.

Lovely quilt! Your airplanes are perfect. I love Carol Doak too. Using freezer paper on her pieces sounds intriguing. It sounds like another thing to add to my quilting to do list is to go and see if they have the tutorial from this live casting. Again your quilt is just beautiful!!

Cute quilt design and pretty fabrics! Thanks for sharing your process of making them. It's interesting to know about different techniques. Thanks!
