This is two of three quilts that AKBelles sent me...

She wanted this to be very feminine and she had mentioned roses.
She also requested sage green thread.
I decided more of an all over design would be best because of the thread color and design of the quilt..I wanted to include the roses and also a "circular" or "rounded" type of design because of the sharp edges.
I decided to do an all over feather and add roses and swirls in the empty spaces to fill it all in....the first border got a simple outline for the eye to rest. The final border got vines, leaves, swirls and different types of flowers as there were many types of flowers represented in the fabrics.
This was my first time doing this type of a design..I like how it turned out ..but definitely found easier ways to accomplish the design along the way.

I quilted this on my INNOVA. NO pantograph or computer quilting.
AKBELLES sent me Warm and Natural batting for her quilts.

Thanks for looking!

Charisma, that is beautiful. You astonish me

feline fanatic 04-10-2011 02:38 PM

You nailed "very feminine"! With such sharp angular piecing done with such pretty floral fabrics your feathers and rose buds and the occasional curly vine added just the right woman's touch to make a quilt I didn't think of as feminine on first glance very much so. It is reminiscient of Victorian. Spectacular results.

twixbar 04-10-2011 02:44 PM

You are a beautiful LAQ, the designs on the quilts are great.
