All Aboard!

I bought a layer cake of Thomas the Train and Friends (Riley Blake) and cut it up into 2 charm packs and 1 jolly bar so I could get 3 quilts from it. I used part of a pattern (only 6 x 7 rows) by Villa Rosa Designs named Salt Water Taffy. The border is also Thomas the Train and I had to piece the backing...but it looks good. This is the 1st one and it measures 44 x 50 in size. l also decided to use a smaller meander than I usually do, and I really liked how it turned out. The solid red and black polka dot fabric was from JoAnns. This goes to Project Linus tomorrow.
Oh! I also listened to "the board" and tried polyester Omni thread in gray....Love It! |
So cute!!! My grandson loved Thomas the Train when he was little.

the meander looks great. this will be well loved by someone who needs it.

That's absolutely darling!

I like the quilt pattern you chose. The quilting and thread color are perfect as well. I will look forward to seeing your other quilts using Thomas the Train fabric! Looks like you are having fun.

That is adorable some little ones are going to love it.

Our grandson loved Thomas and had the whole railroad. What a fabulous idea to split the layer cake and use coordinating fabric to stretch the possibilities. Wonderful quilt any little boy would love.

My son in law works on a train. I like your quilt and fabrics a lot!
|
I like you split backing and smaller meandering quilting. Some dear Project Linus recipient will be entranced with your Thomas The Tank Engine quilt.

Cute quilt!
