Well it is almost my last day. And my kids in Ms. K's class knew I did quilting so they got together and brought in some old scraps of off-white fabric and they used some fabric pens on them and made me some fabric blocks today. I got half of them today and I get the other half tomorrow. I just hope I don't cry in front of them when I leave tomorrow. Anyways here are some of the wonderful designs and messages.

I think I may have gotten a job. Just waiting to hear back. I know they called one of my references today. In passing in the hall she told me they had. So I take that as a good sign.

Henry it is just wonderful. Those blocks show how big of an impact you made on those kids. I hope you hear back soon on your new job. The waiting is the hardest part.

I'll admit I got a little teary eyed. I get the rest of them tomorrow and I can't wait to see them.

Oh Henry, i am crying already i am so happy for you...thank you sooooo much for taking these pictures and sharing them.....this is sooo special, you wont be leaving these kids Henry, you've given each of them a piece of your heart, they will always be with you, rooting for you, and you for them, wow, look how many lil angels you have!!!!!!!!! :) With this many angels, how can anything but good lay ahead for you????? :)

Those blocks are wonderful. Every time you look at them they will remind you that you made an impact on so many young lives. Good luck on your new job. All my kids have had a least one teacher or teachers aid who touched their lives and made an impact. My son still visits his special teacher who has since become his friend. Its hard to leave the kids you care about, but think of all the new kids you can reach. You are a special person with so much to give. I wish you the best.

The most heart-wrenching one is the one that asks you not to leave!

Well here are the rest of the fabric pieces I got from my kids in one of the classes I work with. They are all special to me. But some break my heart. :( I hated leaving them but I had no choice.

the last ones

Okay so I didn't get teary eyed until I was loading these onto here. I am going to miss my kids. I did pass out a few of my business cards to some of the kids who wanted them and told them to let their parents see them and know that if they approved it was a way for them to keep in touch with me.

When I make this quilt I will put the child's picture next to their block. Because in sewing these blocks together into a quilt some of their names will disappear because they put them so close to the edge of the fabric.

So this is what I will be working on all week next week.

Hi Henry- here is a positive outcome to this situation- maybe these kiddos will all be attending college as they will want to see you again and so will go to the university where you'll be at :):):)
