Almost twin top into a baby quilt.....

I have several quilt tops I made just because I liked the fabric. I didn't have a person in mind for them, just waiting for me to quilt. A family from church had their 3rd little girl and I wanted to make a quilt for them. I cut the quilt top in half and then took a about 12-15 in off the top of the half to save for part of the back. I added the flower and "S" for Sophia. It turned out really cute! I quilted it sort of SID but with a large zig zag in blue. It almost made me want to add a daughter to my 4 boys! Thanks for looking!

It's darling! Love the zig-zag.
That happened to me recently. I had made a quilt top just because I liked the pattern. It sat around for a while until my DD's friend got pregnant and was having a baby boy. I had just the thing! Sometimes you just don't know why you're making something, but a purpose evolves. |
I use that zig-zag stitch a lot of baby/toddler quilts. It is fun to experiment with the pre-programed stitches in my machine. If you have it, try the wavy line one. I have used a short satin stitch instead of tying also.
