This is my first one. I made a few errors before I got it right. Guess I was overthinking it.
Anyway, here it is: (I just grabbed random pieces of fabric, since I was practicing) |
good job, it is fun too. I have a spinning star quilt started with pp, i only make a few blocks a year tho lol, so in about 5 years i will have it done...maybe :)
|
Great Job  PP Is so much fun
|
Great job Sam!!
|
Good Job. I'm just starting to learn too. I think you did excellent for your first block.
|
Good work! It's not really hard at all once you get the hang of it. You kind of have to learn to think backwards, then it's easy!

I have trouble thinking forward too! :) |
Awesome, I just learned paper piecing last month and is a blast!
Have fun and like to see more photos of your cool blocks. Craftybear |
You did fantastic! Keep going, it gets easier with each block you do! :D :D
|
Very nice, I like the pattern, haven't seen that one before.
|
That turned out great. I really need to try PP.
|
Welcome to the dark side. I am just learning to but it becomes addicting.

Looks great to me!

I have read that either you love it or you hate it. Me? I am scared to death of it. I need a class I think as reading the instructions is not working for me. I bought the freezer paper.. I was geared to do it and the chicken in me came out and took over. I think you will do extremely well. THose point came out wonderfully.

where do y'all get patterns to make a pp quilt? are there books for that? Or online?
btw, the block looks good. I've done a bit of pp & am intrigued by it. would like to do more. |
Great job.

Hi, You did a great job! Isn't it amazing how the points turn out perfect? I took two classes on PP before I was brave enough to use it in a quilt. My first PP quilt was a Christmas quilt. After that I felt really brave and started a pattern called Drunkerds Path. I had alot of fun with it. It is now a WIP on the shelf waiting for me to get back to it. I seem to have a lot of those. Tee Hee!! I will post pics if I can get my DH to run the camera.
|
I love how sharp the points are with PP. But I don't do it often so every time I go to do it, I've got to get my brain twisted around it again. I'd love to do an entire quilt with PP blocks.
|
Great job, now on to the big quilt!!
|
Looks great. It is addicting.

I have trouble thinking forward too! :) I am always asking "What on earth was I thinking at all?" |

I have only done a couple of things paperpieced. One thing that helps me is I have a very small fluorescent light that I put under a large round "white/clear" Tupperware container, and use that as a lightbox for lining up the fabric with the lines. It helps.
