Finally, I found the picture of this quilt!!! It was on my laptop after all but I thought it was gone forever. I hope you can open this. If not I’ll have to print it out and scan it.

It is a picture of a fundraiser quilt I made in 06’ to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. My Dad & I are in front of the quilt. He was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s when this picture was taken. This quilt raised $1276. A disappointment, but at least it was something. There were over 4000 pieces sewn into this pineapple quilt. It was my first paper piecing project. The background color is purple, and that is the Alzheimer’s Association’s color. My original plan was for a turquoise background but my LQS didn’t have enough turquoise. Hope you like it and can open it.

WOW! Do you mean the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk? I know how much meaning this has to you to do in her memory. I do this every year too, since 03 the year Dad was diagnosed. I joined the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk committee in 04. It was a way to take the anger and sad feelings about what Alzheimer's was doing to my sweet father and use that energy towards something postive.

EDIT: I didn't see the picture you put up for me when I first posted this - THANK YOU!!! ((((HUGS))))

Yosamitesa ... thanks for posting the pic, as I couldn't get the other to open.

ScrapHappy ... that is an incredible quilt! I know the trials of Alzheimers all too well as my Mom had it, passing in 1991. What a nice pic and memory for you with your Dad and the quilt. I hope it went to a good home!

Thank you Murphy. I stopped counting after 351 hours. It took about 1 1/2 years. Burned the midnight oil on it :-P

Wow! Beautiful quilt and obviously LOTS of work!! Great job on the quilt, and great job raising money! If everyone did what you did, there would be lots of money available for research and treatment...you should be proud!

Beautiful quilt! And for such a good cause! You should be very proud of yourself. My mother is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's so I know how near and dear this is to your heart. It is such a devastating and cruel disease and I hope very soon they finally find a cure. Bless your heart for taking the time to make this gorgeous quilt and raising so much money to benefit the research for a cure.
Thank you for caring and have a great weekend!
