A little Amish girl resting...how novel
I think she is lovely, but wouldn't she be wearing non patterned clothes?
They usually wear black dresses; or dark blue or green. and something white --sleeves or collar.
She is so cute.
Yes, normally they wear plain clothes but I was just trying to perk them up a little. I know alot of Amish folks around here and they are getting really hip.
I love her and I love her clothes!!!
Artist's license! LOL Can't wait to see more. |

The Amish around here have tv's, cell phones, etc. I know because some of them have done work for me. They are good people. We should be more like them.

Love your take on her :D :D :D

They are Amish Mennonites :-)
the mennonites do not have to adhere to the same strict guidelines as the amish and this is why you are seeing them with tv, phones, etc.
there are amish and there are mennonites and different guidelines apply to each group - they are not one and the same. |
Thanks Deb! I love creating new designs.

I like it, it's cute.

The Mennonite have cells phones and modern conveniences. Not the true Amish.

I am reading a few series based on the life of the Amish by Wanda E. Brunstetter. I have completed the series DAUGHTERS OF LANCASTER COUNTY, and I'm now reading the first book in the series BRIDES OF LANCASTER COUNTY. Also I've read Cindy Woodsmall's series SISTERS OF THE QUILT (When the Heart Cries, When Morning Comes, and When a Soul Mends). I just can't get enough of these books. These people live such structured, moral lives. My opinion is that they really have their priorities in order. These books are fiction, but based on fact as lived in the Amish communities.
I like the little Amish girl. |
Cute!
Beautiful. Would love to see more.
What a cutie. Great job.
She is just toooo cute!!
Thanks! Ever since I made that sample I have been swamped and haven't had time to make a full set.....but I will!!

I'm Clueless, so can't comment as to which your little girl is, but she is precious. I just started a Sunbonnet Sue for a little Second Cousin of mine. I had to download patterns, so you're really great with your creation(s). Love the fabric choices, even though they are out of the norm for Traditional Amish. Keep up the neat designing. Create us a line of little girls that are dressed differently. You might have a new career.
