I was asked to make a baby quilt for a friend of a friend. My instructions were to ‘make it pink and embroider the babies name on it’. I found the Lemoyne star paper pieced pattern for an 8 inch block for the corners and I enlarged it to a 14 inch block for the center. I did it all from my stash of fabrics. One small point of interest is that I do all of my quilting on a domestic sewing machine so I am always looking for easy ways to keep it straight and true without time consuming rulers and marking. The white on white polka dots made for an easy way to keep the little arches going straight and true even though they are not all perfect.

I have a Juki 2000QI. I can't say enough good things about this mechanical sewing machine! It has no electronic parts, all metal construction, and does nothing but a straight stich. I just bought another Juki that does have all the bells and whistles for those time when you really need some fancy stitching and, so far, I love it too.
