So, Dr. Who fans, does this look a little Ood to you?

Yes it does, well done!

Kassaundra 11-12-2014 01:06 PM

Great Ood! I love all their blocks in that QAL!!!! I did Gallifrey, the Weeping Angel, and the TARDIS, I actually did 2 TARDIS. The first one I did w/ blue sheer fabric doubled and put on white or black fabric, to get a wood grain and a lighter / darker blue for depth, then a quilting friend of mine from England sent me the perfect blue wood grain fabric in cotton, so I did a second one.

DebraK 11-12-2014 01:26 PM

Kassaundra, are your blocks posted in the QAL group? I haven't been there to look for awhile. Sounds like you tackled some hard blocks right off the bat!

quiltsRfun 11-12-2014 01:38 PM

You nailed it.

Yes they are, but I can share here if you'd like to see them, they are on my computer. Yes, the weeping angel was intense, 312 pieces of fabric in a 12.5 inch square block!!!! lol

QM 11-12-2014 02:26 PM

amazing work

DebraK 11-12-2014 02:40 PM

Here is my second TARDIS w/ the fabric from England.

Kassaundra 11-12-2014 03:30 PM

Oh an on my second TARDIS I got the color difference in the wood by using the right side and wrong side of the fabric.

DebraK 11-12-2014 03:43 PM

I love that woodgrain fabric. it's perfect. So was your first treatment. Very clever. I have that same background material. I'll be using it in a different block though. Great job on the angel! Thanks for sharing.

oops, nice job with Galifrey, too. The dome is a nice touch.

DebraK 11-12-2014 03:43 PM

Clever girl.

Kassaundra 11-12-2014 04:15 PM

Have you guys seen the season finale? I cried then I laughed. lol But won't say anything else in case you haven't seen it yet, spoilers, you know. lol

DebraK 11-12-2014 04:20 PM

I'm not even a fan, per say. The quilt is for DH; a hardcore Whovian ;-) I've only caught
two episodes this season.

I had to google an Ood just to see what they looked like from the show.

Kassaundra 11-12-2014 04:29 PM

We get our TV through the internet, and DW is the ONLY show I pay to watch. I have been a die hard fan since child hood, the old black and white PBS days. Not many teens in rural OK shared my passion! lol lol

malega 11-13-2014 06:04 AM

They are all so very nice.

MaggieMeg 11-15-2014 04:43 PM

Soma and Trillium are amazing designers!! They did all this work and provided these patterns for free.
