Another blue and white one

I had this one pieced and partially quilted when I decided I did not like the quilting. So I took it out and started over. I will not do that again any time soon!

Good job!!

It turned out so well! I am curious what it was about the quilting that you did not like. The thread color the design? I am currently free motion quilting one of my quilts on my domestic machine. I am not happy at all with how the quilting is turning out and am struggling with the idea of taking it out and starting over. I don't like the thread color or the design, yet I have many hours into this. Thinking that maybe when it's done it will look better to me so every day I keep going. :(

Turned out great.

Beautifully done.

Well done! It reminds me of the Blue Willow China that my parents have collected since I was young.

I had originally quilted with swirls, but just didn't like the way it was turning out. So I switched to flowers and leaves and I like it much better. But I do have to say, I got really tired of this quilt, even though I do like the way it finally turned out.

I have lots of blue fabrics...this would be a great quilt to copy. Thanks for sharing your lovely one.

jmoore 10-17-2018 02:13 AM

Wow, you must have really disliked the quilting to take it all out...but it turned out beautifully in the long run.

luvstoquilt 10-17-2018 04:34 AM

Beautiful!

Beautiful quilt and I think I would have just had to live with it. Although, I do remember now that I ripped out quilting on a quilt I made many years ago (I didn't like how it was quilted and it was bad; it was quilted by someone else) and it was a pain and it was just straight stitching. Anyway, your quilt is lovely and love the blues and the pattern.

lblank42 10-17-2018 07:42 AM

Beautiful quilt - came out great!

DJ 10-17-2018 07:53 AM

Wonderful! I love blue and white!

Sallybear6 10-17-2018 10:03 AM

Well your final product is lovely!

Ditter43 10-17-2018 10:21 AM

Sue, I have be there. I remind myself that done is better than perfect. I didn't like the quilting on the hanging gardens quilt I just finished. But I went ahead and finished it that way. After it was washed it looked a lot different and in time I will forget why I was so unhappy about the quilting. We always judge ourselves too harshly!

Love your quilt and you did a nice job on the quilting. Sorry you had to pick out the first quilting but hope you are happy with the second time around quilting.

sue.ross.8782 10-17-2018 04:34 PM

I guess that's why they call it the blues...;)

sewbizgirl 10-17-2018 04:45 PM

Sue Ross you better duck!

cmcleod, your quilt is beautiful! The quilting is gorgeous.

Grandma Peg 10-17-2018 07:41 PM

I love your quilt and your quilting is wonderful.. What is the pattern name? Great job!

Darcyshannon 10-17-2018 11:13 PM

Thanks for sharing. I have ripped out quilting before but not so much. It was hard and I was quite frustrated. I hope you can set it aside for a while and then discover it again.

Lovely quilt and quilting!

Mkotch 10-18-2018 03:05 AM

This pattern has been on my bucket list for a while. Your blue and white rendition inspires me (although I need to finish a few more UFOs first!).

A1penny 10-18-2018 03:09 AM

Love the pattern and all the different blues!

The quilt is beautiful and love the use of all the different blue prints.

I agree, done is better than perfect and washing does make a difference in the look.
Good to see your smiling face Ditter43

Quilt looks very nice.

Jane Quilter 10-18-2018 07:37 PM

It is lovely....what is the pattern name?

Cheshirepat 10-23-2018 08:56 AM

Love the pattern, and your quilting, and the fabrics! I'm glad it's finally to your satisfaction, it came out wonderfully. :)

MarionsQuilts 10-26-2018 06:20 AM

Beautiful job! That pattern is on my list! I am in the process of unstitching some FMQ that I have done on a quilt ... not a pleasant job by any stretch of the imagination so I feel your pain! Your final product is wonderful!

Mariposa 10-26-2018 08:23 AM

Very pretty! Great colors too!
