Actually it was your bag that gave me the shove to try making one ;)

Good! It's nice to know I have inspired someone!

Question on the snap closure-Do you need to snip a little hole for the prongs on the snaps or will they just push through the material? Nice bag by the way!

I used my seam ripper to start the hole. That way, it wouldn't end up too big if I pushed too hard.

Please let us know when this new one is complete. And I love that the lining matches. Makes it interesting :) I sure need to make myself one of these!

If you have an older sewing machine, like a Kenmore or Singer in a cabinet (1940's -1950's), these old workhorses will sew about anything with no damage to them. Just make sure you use the proper needle.

Beautiful bag! I love the design in the fabric!!

I like it! Nothing wrong with the lining being the same as outside!

Your bag is wonderful!! I have one that I keep in my big purse all the time, I will pull it out when I just want to run in somewhere and I don't want to carry everything. I just throw my wallet and keys in there and I am good to go!! :)

I made the smallest button hole I could so the fabric wouldn't tear more than necessary, I then open up the button holes like you would for a button, but I put the prongs through.

Cheers!
