this one is for donation to the dialysis center down the street.
quilted on my embroidery machine using purchased patterns.

I love that!! Orange is not my favorite color but seeing your quilt changes my mind!! I bought some of that Tiger Lily to stretch my horizons a bit :)

That's neat! I love the quilting patterns you chose. When you quilt on the embroidery machine, can you do something else while it's quilting, or do you have to be there to change hoop positions, etc.

for something very small i can wander off to do other things.

when working on anything larger than a few feet square, i have learned the hard way to never walk away.
my table is not big enough to puddle the quilt completely.
i often have to hold it up to keep the weight from throwing the hoop off balance.
things can go down the ugly hill really fast if that happens.

Very pretty quilt whether it is orange or red! I like the quilting very much and have begun to explore the quilt in the hoop idea. I have talked to the sewing machine dealer about the concept.

I would like it to be small enough to carry back and forth, but big enough to use while he's at the center and as a throw at home. Would you please tell me what size you make yours? Thankss

I'm so glad that you posted close-ups of the fabrics used - I have a hard time putting different patterns and colors together, so to see what others do is a real help to me. Love your quilt!

it's somewhere between oversized lap and twin size.
it would be perfect for your pastor.


each of the big squares is 9" finished.
the flying geese are each 3" x 6" finished.
the blocks then measure 9" x 15" finished.

Don't usually like orange, but I REALLY like this! Great job.
