Another First-Never Stop Learning!
1 Attachment(s)
I just completed my first JR quilt (notice how I also learned an abbrev,), and quickly changed to the free motion presser foot now that I discovered how to use it on You Tube. I even wrote my name! Soooo fun!
Please feel free to offer advice. I continue to learn from the wealth of information and experience from the kind and thoughtful posts here. Attachment 622140 |
Looks like you are doing very good. Just curious, what is a JR quilt? That acronym is one I don't know.
Looking good. Practice makes perfect! What is a JR quilt.?

I’m going to guess Jelly Roll but I’m not sure. Nice job on your FMQ.
aashley333, that is a great start!
I love the fact that you are willing to share your first efforts at FMQ. I wish I had photographed my first efforts, but I was not nearly as brave as you are. Being open to and interesting things just might be the greatest secret to happiness throughout our lifetimes. You are off to a great start. Stay open to new techniques, skills and ideas and you will never be bored.
👏🏻Good start! Next you will want a ruler foot and rulers.
Great, just keep practicing.
Your first attempt looks like a Michelangelo compared to mine which looked more like a Picasso, lol. I have learned over the past few years is to just relax and not get all tensed up. I hope we get to see more of your work as you progress.
Great job, Autumn! Your stitches look so even. That is a challenge for me but I just keep on practicing.
Keep on learning woman!! This is great! We have all been where you are and trial and error makes us better. I love it that you have shared with us this first effort. Keep up the good work and continue to share your progress. Keep this to compare with as your get better and better. There will come a day when you want to pull it out.
My quilt guild is planning an evening of first and current quilts and the stories that go with them. The story that goes with this piece with become a great part of your story. |
