Thanks all. I'm done making these for awhile, not that much fun :x :x , except for the end result :) :) . I'll probably make some for next christmas presents.

DH and I relocate to our lake cottage for the months of June - Sept. The lake community is a very social group ...... little dinner parties pop up all the time. Fun! Anyways, I was thinking that those "fishy" pot holders would make terrific hostess gifts for the gals on the lake. I bought the pattern, but am yet to make it. Now you have inspired me to get some done before summer. You commented that they ere "not fun". Any short cuts or tips you can give me before I get started? Did you use the insulated batting? Nita

Not fun meaning,
I'm not a big fan of binding, but I did get to try bias binding for the 1st time.
In the main fish body I used 1 layer of insul-bright with 1 layer of quilt batting. The other 2 pieces I used just 1 layer of insul-bright to minimize bulk.
Here's the little fish:

I also used some tips on this site:

The starch & school glue worked wonders. I found the clover mini iron worked especially well.
Show us some pics when you are finished :) :) :)
